This GoPro Karma drone review shows that we have found one of the best DJI Mavic alternatives. Known for being the best and most popular piece of recording equipment in the world, it’s no surprise that GoPro are making a clear statement to other drone brands.

GoPro Karma Drone Review

Described simply as the best DJI Phantom alternative, the GoPro Karma can take amazing shots in 4K thanks to its unique recording features.

We have decided to reveal all in this GoPro Karma drone review.

GoPro Karma drone review – Best features

We have to admit, we have fallen in love with the Karma.

Our Karma review will reveal the best GoPro drone price. But here’s some of the main specs.

To begin, we have to say how user friendly the Karma is.

If you’re new to the world of UAV, it can be overwhelming taking your first flight. But we don’t get that with the Karma.

As soon as we got her up in the air, we felt like experienced drone pilots. And you’ll feel the same too. This is only down to the game-style controller that ensures maximum fun when flying the Karma.

We always felt totally in control when flying the GoPro Karma and noticed that changing direction is smooth and quick.

Preflight Training

Nervous about your first drone flight? Don’t want to crash and break your toy?

We get you. This is something we really do love about this product which makes it one of the best drones for GoPro.

GoPro have thoughtfully added a preflight training to the Karma. Is this the ultimate in hands on drone flight simulation? We think so. When comparing the GoPro Karma vs Mavic Pro, this is something that is totally unique and earns the Karma a gold star!

Ultra Portable

In todays travel world, we pack more than just our swimming trunks and arm bands.

The camera can be detached from the Karma and used separately as an action cam.

One reason for being one of the best DJI Mavic alternatives is how easily it can be folded away into drone carry on luggage. This means you can now take your Karma everywhere and anywhere. And when you want to fly, just attach the propellors and away you go.

Who is the GoPro Karma drone for?

If you’ve read any of the best GoPro drone review sites, you’ll be happy to learn that the Karma drone is a top option for beginners and seasoned pilots a like.

Thanks to the preflight training mode and easy to use controller, this has to be one of the best drones for GoPro.

If you’re simply looking for DJI Phantom 4 alternatives, then the portable attributes found on the Karma will impress you. We found it easy to pack in to our Manfrotto drone bag and just as easy to take out. Perfect if you’re at airport security.

GoPro Karma Drone review – Final thoughts

If you’re looking for the best GoPro drone price, the Karma is the one to go for.

We were so impressed by how easy it was to capture amazing 4K footage whilst using the Karma.

However, users have reported battery faults, resulting in their drone falling from the sky. Although only a few incidents, we recommend flying your drone in open spaces, away from cars and crowds of people.

But the long list of positives make the Karma the best drones for GoPro cameras. It’s easy to use and fold away. We love it!

GoPro Karma vs Mavic Pro

What are the differences between the GoPro vs Mavic Pro that we all love so much?

Whilst both are great foldable drones, the Karma has been built to connect with various GoPro cameras, whereas the Mavic Pro has a built in camera.

In terms of portable ability, they both fold away into a small space or drone backpack. However, the DJI Mavic wins in this department as it can be folded down to the size of a bottle.

In terms of recording abilities, the Mavic can produce 4k quality videos at 30fps and HD 1080p resolution at 96fps. But the Karma wins, being fitted with the latest Hero 5 Black, you’ll expect to get similar results to the Mavic Pro. So 4K footage at 30fps and HD 1080p footage at 120fps but a higher frame rate than the DJI Mavic Pro’s 96fps.

But in the end, there’s not much separating the two. We do love how we were able to detach the camera from the GoPro Karma and use the handheld grip.
